PVC product introduction

PVC is a thermoplastic resin polymerized by vinyl chloride monomer under the action of initiator. Polyvinyl chloride is white or light yellow powder. Different additives can be added according to different uses, and PVC plastics can show different physical and mechanical properties. Various rigid, soft and transparent products can be made by adding an appropriate amount of plasticizer into PVC resin. The density of pure PVC is 1.4g/cm3; after plasticizers and fillers are added, the density of PVC plastic parts is generally 1.15-2.00g/cm3.

Rigid PVC has good resistance to tension, bending, compression and shock, and can be used as structural material alone. The softness, elongation at break and cold resistance of soft PVC will increase, but the brittleness, hardness and tensile strength will decrease. PVC has good electrical insulation performance and can be used as low-frequency insulation material with good chemical stability. Due to poor thermal stability, after long-term heating, PVC will be decomposed, release HCL gas, and discolor, so its application scope is narrow, and the operating temperature is generally -15~55℃.

Product use: PVC is one of the five general resins, and is China's first and world's second largest general-purpose synthetic resin material. Due to its excellent chemical properties, such as flame retardancy, wear resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, comprehensive mechanical properties, product transparency, electrical insulation and easy processing, it has become one of the most widely used plastic varieties in the application fields, and has been widely used in the fields of industry, construction, agriculture, light industry, medical equipment, daily life, packaging, electric power, and utilities.

Specific applications are as follows:

1. General soft PVC products

The extruder can be used to extrude hoses, cables and wires; the injection molding machine can be used together with various molds to make plastic sandals, shoe soles, slippers, toys, and automotive parts.

2. PVC film

After PVC is mixed and plasticized with additives, they can be made into transparent or colored film with a specified thickness by a three-roll or four-roll calender and become calendered film. The film can be processed in this method. PVC can also be cut and heat-sealed into packaging bags, raincoats, tablecloths, curtains and inflatable toys. Wide transparent film can be used for greenhouses, large plastic houses and mulching films. The biaxial stretching film can be used for shrink packaging due to its heat shrinkage characteristics.

3. PVC coated products

The artificial leather with substrates is made by applying PVC paste onto cloth or paper and plasticizing it above 100℃. PVC can also be calendered with additives into the film and then be pressed with the substrates. The artificial leather without substrates is directly calendered by a calender into a soft sheet with a certain thickness, and then pressed with the pattern. Artificial leather can be used to make leather suitcases, bags, book covers, sofas and car cushions, and floor leather can be used as flooring materials of buildings.

4. PVC foam products

When soft PVC is mixed, an appropriate amount of foaming agent can be added to make sheets, and the sheets can be foamed and molded into foamed plastics, which can be used for foam slippers, sandals, insoles, and cushioning packaging materials. It can also be extruded into low-foamed rigid PVC sheets and profiles by the extruder, which can replace wood for trial use, and it is a new building material.

5. PVC transparent sheet

Add impact modifier and organic tin stabilizer to PVC, and it will become transparent sheet after mixing, plasticizing and calendering. It can be made into thin-walled transparent containers or used for vacuum blister packaging through thermoforming, and is an excellent packaging material and decorative material.

6. PVC rigid plate and sheet

Add the stabilizer, lubricant and filler to PVC, and after mixing, rigid tubes, special-shaped pipes and corrugated pipes of various diameters can be extruded by an extruder and used as sewer pipes, drinking water pipes, wire conduits or stair railings. The calendered sheets can be overlapped and hot-pressed to make rigid sheets of various thicknesses. The sheets can be cut into the required shape, and then welded with hot air into various chemical corrosion-resistant storage tanks, air ducts and containers by PVC welding electrode.

7. PVC others

Doors and windows are assembled with special-shaped rigid materials. In some countries, it has occupied the market of doors and windows together with wooden doors and windows and aluminum windows; and used for wood imitation materials and substitute steel building materials (in the north, seaside); and hollow containers.

8. The most significant characteristic of PVC is its flame retardancy, the flame retardancy value is greater than 40, so it is widely used in fire protection application.
